They're the cheapest units to buy and to run, and the smaller Daikin sizes idle at a near-silent 19 dB(A), which is why they end up over so many cots. The one mistake to avoid is fitting one to a room that really wants a 2.5kW — an undersized unit runs flat-out on a hot afternoon and never quite gets there.

- Up to 3 metres of insulated refrigerant pipework in neat trunking
