Codes come in two families: H-codes (sensors, communication, components) and F-codes (refrigeration cycle and compressor protection). How to find your Panasonic fault code

Wall splits — read the code back through the remote

  1. 1 Panasonic doesn't use flash counting: a blinking TIMER light only means a code is stored. You retrieve it with the remote.
  2. 2 Press the recessed CHECK button (a pin-hole under the slide-down cover) and hold for 5 seconds — the display changes to “- -”.
  3. 3 Press the TIMER up/down button to step through codes, starting at H00.
  4. 4 When the displayed code matches the stored fault, the unit's POWER lamp lights for 30 seconds and you get a continuous ~4-second beep. That code on screen is your fault. (Short flash, no beep = not a match.)
  5. 5 Hold CHECK for 5 seconds to exit — or it exits itself after 30 seconds. Wi-Fi models also show the code in the Comfort Cloud app.

Wired controllers (ducted and cassettes)

  1. 1 No beep method needed — the code flashes directly on the controller screen, with the indoor unit number on multi/group systems.
  2. 2 Note the whole code (letter plus digits) before switching anything off.
  3. 3 Alarm history lives in the controller's maintenance menu — normally a technician function.
