Split system air conditioning for Ferndale homes
Most homes around Ferndale are single-storey brick-and-tile built through the 1970s and 80s on generous suburban blocks. They're solid houses, but plenty still carry their original switchboard - and an older board often can't safely take a new air conditioner without an upgrade. Because Otter Air & Electrical is dual-licensed in both air conditioning and electrical, we run the dedicated circuit and sort any board work in-house on the same visit, so you're not chasing a separate sparky to finish the job.
The classic Ferndale request is cooling the rooms that actually get used - a reverse-cycle split in the master bedroom and a larger head unit through the open living and kitchen zone. On these low-set tile roofs we keep pipe runs tidy and tuck the outdoor condenser out of sight down the side of the house, which suits the older floorplans well. We also do a steady run of straight swap-outs here, pulling out a tired wall unit that has lost its cooling and replacing it with an efficient modern inverter on the existing bracket where the location still makes sense.
Where a home has been extended or a second storey added, we'll spec a multi-head system so several rooms run from one outdoor unit - cleaner than bolting on extra boxes over the years. Whatever the layout, our air conditioning Ferndale work is sized to the room and installed to standard, with manufacturer warranties kept intact.

See all reviews“Excellent Air Conditioning Installation Service! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ When looking to install 2 new aircons at my house, I was recommended to use Otter Air & Electrical and I couldn't be happier with the service provided by Matt and his assistant. From the initial enquiry through to the completion of the installation, the entire experience was seamless, professional and efficient. Matt responded promptly to emails, arrived exactly on time as scheduled, highly professional and the whole experience was stress-free. On the quote, he provided a few options with breakdown details of what is included in the price and makes it easier to make the decision. On the day of installation, the process was completed on schedule and I'm very happy with the quality of the work. They took great care to keep the work area clean and tidy throughout the job, and once finished, they thoroughly cleaned up, leaving everything spotless. Thank you very much, Matt and team and I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a reliable, professional and efficient aircon company.”
