1. How big is the room?
2. How will the pipes run?
Most installs are back-to-back: the indoor unit sits on an external wall and the outdoor unit goes directly behind it on the other side — the pipes pass straight through the wall. That's the install our advertised prices are based on.
Rule of thumb: indoor unit can't go on an outside wall → back-to-side. Outdoor unit needs to live on a different side of the house (e.g. front room, but no outdoor unit at the front door) → up-and-over.

What every price includes
Every figure above is a complete back-to-back supply-and-install. The standard job covers:
- The indoor head and outdoor unit, mounted, levelled, and secured
- Up to 3 metres of insulated refrigerant pipework in neat trunking
- The electrical work: a new dedicated circuit to the switchboard (2–3.5kW units and replacements connect to a suitable existing circuit), with an isolating switch at the outdoor unit
- Condensate drain run to ground level
- Standard outdoor mounting (blocks at ground level, or a wall bracket where specified)
- Vacuum, pressure test, and refrigerant charge to the manufacturer's spec
- Full run test, commissioning, remote demo, and the compliance paperwork
